AlongRoute was proud to take part in the EU-Startups Investment Pitch Competition at the recent EU-Startups Summit in Malta, where 15 European startups were selected from more than 1,500 applicants to pitch in front of a panel of investors and ecosystem leaders. The competition brought together standout startups from nine different sectors, highlighting the breadth of innovation emerging across Europe.

Representing AlongRoute, Dr. Georgia Kalantzi presented our vision for more accurate, AI-powered marine weather intelligence for maritime software providers. As featured in the event coverage, AlongRoute is tackling one of the shipping industry’s most persistent challenges: forecast uncertainty. By combining Earth Observation, satellite, buoy, and open-source data, our technology helps improve voyage safety, fuel efficiency, and emissions performance.

The article also highlighted AlongRoute’s mission to strengthen digital maritime optimisation, with the potential to improve route performance and reduce operational costs per voyage. For us, participating in this competition was an important opportunity to showcase how better marine intelligence can support safer, more efficient, and more sustainable shipping.

Special thanks to Clive Reffell, Content Marketing and Crowdfunding Specialist for the amazing coverage!
