AlongRoute recently appeared on ANT1 TV Greece as part of Vodafone Business’ “Your Business Can”, with Georgia Kalantzi and Vasileios Alexandridis, CTO, discussing how better marine weather data can support safer, greener, and more efficient maritime operations. The interview was hosted by Fayi Chrysochoou and gave the team an opportunity to present AlongRoute’s mission to transform marine weather data into actionable intelligence for the shipping industry.

During the interview, AlongRoute highlighted a key challenge in maritime operations: many high-stakes decisions at sea still rely on weather information that can be too coarse, inconsistent, or insufficiently trusted when conditions become difficult. As noted in the post, this lack of trust can lead to larger operational buffers, delays, increased fuel consumption, and avoidable risk.

The discussion also focused on how AlongRoute turns marine weather data into practical intelligence for vessel routing, maritime operations, and more efficient planning, with relevance across routing, fleet operations, ports, risk and insurance, and compliance-related use cases.

For AlongRoute, the TV feature was an important opportunity to communicate its vision to a wider audience in Greece and to underline the growing role of trusted marine weather intelligence in improving operational performance and supporting decarbonisation in shipping.
